Also described is a universal console control enclosure designed by JSC Concern "Granit Elektron" and CC SPC "Aquamarine". The paper provides examples of the implementation of the console control devices with the multiprocessor systems based on the cPCI bus. 44 Automatic control system of a compressor station By Evgeniy Cherednik, Ilya Viktorov, Olga Matiychuk, Aleksandr Abramov and Sergey Khvoshch The article provides a brief description of one of the commercial products manufactured by CJSC Elcus – a set of instruments to control a compressor station. The product was developed in 2005. It is now being delivered on commercial terms to the naval ships under construction. DEVELOPMENT/ Shipping 48 Automated data acquisition and processing system for a high speed towing tank By Victor Kochin and Vladimir Moroz Model tests in a towing tank are the most effective way for studying the hydrodynamic and aerodynamic properties of the modern types of ships. The article discusses the specific features of the automated data acquisition and processing system for a high speed towing tank at the Institute of Hydromechanics NAS of Ukraine. DEVELOPMENT/ Aviation 52 Automated control system for the operation of the MAP 2 Unit for ion plasma coating in vacuum By Aleksei Bodyagin The article describes the control system of a unit for the protective coating for jet aircraft turbine blades. Also discussed are the benefits of the automation of the unit and the need for the unification of the hardware/software solutions to allow for its replication. Particular emphasis is given to the implementation of the upper level of the system based on GENESIS32 SCADA components. 58 Firing test stand for pulse detonation engines By German Govorenko, Vladimir Porshnev, Dmitriy Teterin and Aleksei Zhebrakov The article describes the experience of designing a stand for testing pulse detonation engines. Also discussed are the architecture and functions of the stand and the capabilities of the employed hardware and software devices. 64 Distributed control of unmanned aerial vehicles By Bob McIlvride For the past several years, students and faculty at the Vehicle Dynamics Lab (VDL) of the University of California, Berkeley, have been developing a system of coordinated distributed control, communications, and vision based control among a group of several unmanned aircraft. The control system for each aircraft runs on a PC/104 computer with a QNX 6 operating system. Control is divided into three kinds of processes: communication, image processing, and task control.
